「まずい血の人間を100年飼育すると、えもいえぬ美味になる」という話を信じて、大妖怪ラ・ムー・デルは皆殺しにした一家の最後の子供、チキタを育てることにする。人の感情を知らず、人の心のありようを知らないラ・ムー・デルを、『胡散臭い』と思いながらも、生きるためにその力を借りなければならないチキタ。かわいらしいシンプルな絵で描かれる物語の骨子は、意外なほど残酷で凄惨だ。そこに書かれる人のエゴも、願いも、妖怪の欲望も。同じ世界に生きている「別の」生き物である妖怪を生かしているものは何か、とふいと考えてしまうときがある。今回の話は長編を予感させるので、是非続けて読むといいだろうと思う。

ＴＯＮＯさんの話は、甘さ１００％というわけにはいかないけど、人生の色んな味わいがぎっしり深くこめられてます。
自分の両親を食べてしまった、人食い妖怪と同居し、「１００年後に美味しく食べるため」親身な世話を受けてる主人公。
この不思議で複雑な関係をさらにややこしくするほかの登場人物達。
一体どうなるんだろうかとはらはらしたり、ほろりとしながら読み進んでいます。

人間を食べてしまう妖怪たち。そんな中でもちょっといわくありげな妖怪、ラー・ラム・デラルは不味~い少年・チキタを「飼育」することに。不味い人間は百年たつとすごくおいしくなるのだとか。
そんなわけで一緒に暮らすことになるラーとチキタ。
妖怪だから人間の少年の心なんて理解できないけれど、妖怪なりに気を使っているっぽいので、おもしろい。
