突然、人を圧倒できる力を手に入れたら…。
ファーストガンダム以降、ロボットモノの裏テーマといえば、身の丈以上の力（＝ロボット）を得たために発生する、主人公の葛藤や苦悩ではないだろうか。
この主人公はちょっぴりイタい。熱血漢でもなければ単純な正義の味方でもない。嫌々、戦いをしているわけでもなく、状況にただ流されてるだけでもない。
そんな強さと弱さを持った主人公だからこそ感情移入できるし、描かれるドラマも身に迫ってくる。
単なるロボットバトルが読みたいだけであれば、このまんが以外でも楽しめると思う（もちろんこれを読んでも十分堪能できるが）。
もしロボットバトルと感動を読みたいのなら、このまんがを手に取るのが正解だと思う。
特にこの巻の最終話は、圧巻。
ロボットモノ≠バトルさえ描けていればＯＫ、ということが再確認できるはずだ。

ひ弱だった少年主人公が、突然強大な力を持つロボットの操縦者に選ばれるとか、親友の無残な死とか、謎の美少女とか…。
これまでにいろんなアニメで見てきた要素、オタク系の少年に受けそうなネタは、全て入れてある漫画だなあ、というのが率直な感想。
そのせいか、あまり丁寧に設定が作られていない感じがして、１巻で読むのを止めてしまいました。
絵はカッコイイと思うので、中高生時代だったら好きになってたかもしれない。

なんか、作者の好きな設定ぶち込んでおりゃ〜ってかき混ぜた感じ？
主人公の浩一は｢こいつひでぇなぁ・・・｣が第一印象なんですが、やっぱり王道的なんで最低からいかに『正義の味方』になっていくのか、その過程が面白い作品ですね。
絵も丁寧でなにより巨大ロボ「マキナ」がめちゃんこカッコいいっす。
読んで損は無しです。
あっアニメから入ったっ人はあまりお勧めできません。
世界観とかキャラの立ち居値がかなり違います。
