刃牙シリーズではこの「範馬刃牙」が初めて購入しました。
アニメの方を見ていたので予備知識は少ないながらあるので、第一部・第二部を見ていなくてもストーリーに入り込めました。
一巻は自己紹介編・2巻は刃牙の勇次郎に対する無限の挑戦（をイメージしたシャドウトレーニング）
3巻はようやく実践開始という感じです。刃牙はアメリカまで行き「ボッシュ大統領」を拉致してブラックペンタゴンに収容され、
そこでナンバー１であるミスターオリバと対戦するのが目的。でもオリバにたどり着く前に得体の知れないナンバー２（通称セカン）や他の囚人が行く手を遮る…。

アイアンマイケルが何故収容されてるのかも気になりました。
展開がややゆっくりですがその分、描写を丁寧に描かれているのだと思います。

親子喧嘩を前にして、バキが新たなスパーリング相手を求めに
アメリカを訪れた。その相手は刑務所の中にいるため、まず
犯罪を犯したバキ。その犯罪とは大統領誘拐。
凄まじい警備の中から大統領を誘拐したバキは、スパー相手の
いる刑務所への収監とコーヒー代１０ドルを要求した。
まんまとうまくいったバキは刑務所でスパー相手であるオリバ
と出会う。しかし、そこにはオリバ以外にも化け物がいた。
ミスター２なる謎の男と同じ房になったバキ。
今巻ではミスター２と彼にくってかかる囚人とのファイトまでが
収録されている。

バキは、自分が想像で作り上げた１００ｋｇのカマキリを倒した。
しかし、その情報をどこで仕入れたかはわからないが、ストライダムは入手していた。

ストライダムは、その情報を、範馬勇次郎に伝えた。
なんと、勇次郎は、「エフッ」「エフッ」という怖くておもしろい笑い方で刃牙のカマキリとの死闘を、【実物の子犬にも劣る】と完全否定したのである。

つまり、アイアン・マイケルと巨大カマキリの想像上の戦いは、無意味だった。
《範馬刃牙２巻》は、勇次郎に完全否定された（笑）。

巨大カマキリとの死闘の後に、刃牙は、アメリカ大統領を誘拐して、ビスケット・オリバがいるアリゾナ州立刑務所に収監された。
範馬勇次郎との戦いに向けて、ビスケット・オリバを練習台にしようと思ったのである。

オリバと会い、オリバを不意打ちで殴った刃牙だが、何のダメージを与えることができなかった。
これを考えると、勇次郎を本当に倒せるのだろうか？

今、範馬刃牙３巻だが、範馬刃牙３０巻出ても、勇次郎を倒せる感じがしてこない。
オリバも倒せる感じがしない。

板垣先生は、今のレベルじゃ刃牙は勇次郎にかなわないからこの作品を書いているらしいが。

うーん、梢（こずえ）〔←刃牙の彼女〕が勇次郎に拉致監禁されるとか。
殺されるまではいかなくても、かなりヒドイ仕打ちを受けるとか？

そうしたら、怒りで、刃牙は勇次郎を倒せる、となるかもしれない。
ドラゴンボールの悟空みたく、スーパーサイヤ人みたいになれるかもしれません。

最凶死刑囚編が一番好きな僕にとっては今巻はかなり面白かった! 刃牙も静かに余裕で倒す無敵モードじゃなくなったのでかなりいい感じでした! 刃牙最高
