今市子さんは、もともと「百鬼夜行」から入ったのですが、これもその雰囲気の
ある作品です。
怖いけど、ユーモアもあって、若旦那と与三郎の掛け合いがさいこー。
絵もすごくきれいですよね。
若旦那と与三郎がどうなっていくのか、早く続きが読みたいです。

いつの時代なのかははっきりわからないけれど、昭和初期あたりなのかなぁ。今市子さん独特の、昔の匂いのする日本の雰囲気が全体に漂っていて、この感じがとても好きです。

味噌屋の若旦那の升一郎と、怪談話が得意な男芸者の与三郎のつかず離れずのやりとりが心をくすぐります。若旦那の本気（？）がチラチラと垣間見えたりするとちょっと嬉しくなりました。与三郎はなんだかんだ言って若旦那と一緒にいるし、この先どうなるのか、ぜひ早く続きを描いて欲しいです！

物語の中には不思議な妖の存在が少し出てきますが、それほど怖くはありません。
味噌屋の跡取り問題をめぐっての話や、若旦那のお見合い＆過去の女性の登場話、与三郎の全身にある刀傷がどうしてつけられたのか、などのお話が収録されています。

時代は「限りなく昭和に近いある時代のこと」。今市子先生の時代物です。といって堅苦しい知識は必要なし。お座敷のにぎわせ役なのに怪談話しか芸のない丸眼鏡が素敵な与三郎と父親の葬式で拍手を打っちゃう素っ頓狂な味噌屋の若旦那升一郎の不思議で楽しい話。キャラに連載された４話を収録。升一郎が味噌屋の跡を継ぐ話から始まり、縁談、過去の女、また与三郎の名の由来である全身の刀傷はなぜつけられたのかなど。二人の表面コミカル、でも惹かれあっているという関係がすきです。
