設定とかストーリーとか面白いんだけど、ちょっとここなくてもよくない？みたいなところもあり、長く感じました。
ものすごい格差社会の話。最初は衝撃を受けていたんだけど、途中からもう想像力が働かない。実感がわかない。あまりにも別世界過ぎて。ファンタジー過ぎて。
一気に読んでしまえば、当初の気持ちのまま読めたかもしれないけれど、ちょっと残念。　

ただ色々考えるところはありました。自己の物に執着しすぎたらいないってことと、誇りって大事なんだなってこと。お金や地位って比較対象だもんね。平均以上にないと満たされないような。でも誇りは違う。みんな誇りを持ってればいいわけで。たまたまお金や地位を得られたとしても、やっぱそれにこだわっちゃダメ。執着しちゃダメって思う。そういうのって自分の力だけで手に入れられるものじゃないから。たまたまそういうのを手に入れられる環境にいたってことが大きいと思ったのです。
そして主人公の頑張りには、私にしかできないことがあるかもしれない、とも感じさせてもらいました。

突拍子もない設定だが良質のＳＦ。ただ、一つどうしても突っ込みたい。意識は飛ばせるが、物理的なモノは持って行けない。だから殺人インフルエンザの原型の構造を「記憶」した訳だが、間接的に持って行けると思う。それもより完全な形で。元いた世界で原型をＣＤ−ＲＯＭにでも焼いて、「地の民」の住む旧市街にでも埋めておけばいい。元の世界の仲間に頼れば簡単なこと。たかだか２００年である。何か所でもおｋだし、階層間の対立を超えて原型の「発掘」を行えば完了する。もっとも、物語の中でこの恋人との記憶行為が最高の見せ場でもあるから、これは要らぬお節介であることは重々承知しております<(_ _)>読んでいて、楳図かずおの「漂流教室」で死体の中にナイフを入れて、はるか未来で主人公が埋め込まれていたそのナイフで危地を脱するという場面を思い出したからでもありました。気にしないでください

ＳＦはあまり読みつけない。タイムマシンやら失われた世界などの古典的作品を
読んでいるくらいだ。
石田衣良のほうもＲ25の巻末エッセイや数本の短編程度しか手にとっていない。

しかしそれでも良く分かる。
この本は素晴らしい。どうか恋愛小説や推理小説を好む人にこそ読んでもらいたい。
必ず清清しい読後感と明日への活力を得ることができるだろう。
