　僕にとって、Ｂ＆Ｂは子供の頃のヒーローです。ちょうど、ビートたけしや島田紳助らを知ったのも、８０年代前半の小学生の頃。おもしろい「おにいちゃん」たち的な存在でした。志村けんもかな。そんな洋七さんの、高校卒業から現在までの回想を読んで、郷愁にも似た気持ちになりました。
　この本を読もうと思ったきっかけは、ＴＶドラマで泉ピン子主演の「がばいばあちゃん」を見たことでした。このドラマでは懸命に生きる少年洋七はもとより、貧乏で母ちゃんにもはぐれて暮らしてる少年を、励まし育てているがばいばあちゃんの、強烈な個性と人間的な温かさに感動させられました。
　今回、ばあちゃんはそんなに出てきません。陰に陽に励まし、支えてくれる存在ではあり続けているのですが、洋七さんの若い頃の思い出が中心です。
　下積み時代の苦労も、逆にいいなあと思ってしまうほどの明るさが、作品全体のトーンとなっていて、読んでいる僕も逆境に負けちゃいけないと思わされました。人の人生は一様ではなく、夢も含めて何層にも重なっているんだなって思います。そして、自分が好きで納得のいくものを仕事とすることが、いかに幸せなことなのかと思いました。

今回は、洋七が中心になって物語が展開します。
しかしながら、良い女性とめぐり合えたなぁと思います。
彼の女性の原点がばあちゃんだったからこそ、奥さんの本質を無意識のうちに見破っていたのでしょうか？
軽快なテンポで繰りろげられる、大人になってからの洋七の人生にも、ばあちゃんの愛情はかげながら、注がれ続け、盛衰を経験する彼に決定的な影響を与えている。

ばあちゃん（それに嫁）は彼の宝です！！
うらやましい！！

がばいばぁちゃんについては前作２作品でたくさんの逸話が
掲載されていましたが、島田洋七さんと奥様（りっちゃん）
の逸話がたくさん盛り込まれていました。
がばいばぁちゃんの助言も加わり、夫婦愛を感じる一冊でした。
