5億の金を持ち逃げしたヤクザが軽井沢に潜んでいる、と言う情報を得た筋者が達が続々と軽井沢に終結。昔、新宿で名を馳せた「5人殺しの健」は今は犬とひっそり軽井沢で暮らしていたが、この騒動に否応無く巻き込まれていく。5億の壮絶な争奪戦とガンアクション、これで面白くないわけがない、と思って読んだのだが。。。結果的に言うと、非常にガッカリでした。それぞれのキャラ立ちが良くないし、馳氏得意のノワール感がかなり薄い。健、それに対抗する地元ヤクザ、刑事の3人を軸に話が進み、二転三転する現金争奪戦を期待したいた私は大分期待を裏切られた。コメディタッチの遣り取りも頂けなかったし、最後の対決もダラダラと長く緊張感を欠く。銃撃戦も意外にあっけなく終わるので、壮絶なファイトシーンも少なめ。色々なキャラが出てくる割にはその描写がかなり中途半端で感情移入もできなかった。今まで馳氏の作品と違って、謎解き（駆け引き）やゲーム的要素が少なく、純粋なアクション小説であっただけに、かなり消化不良でした。これなら、夜光虫やブルーローズの戦闘シーンの方が100倍楽しめます。期待していただけに、非常に残念に思いました。

「５人殺しの健」が壊れて(？)いくのか、それとも復活するのか？
いままでの馳氏の作品にはなかった、強い男像を持った主人公の立ち回りは痛快そのものでした。
他キャラもいい味出してました。
骨太感が溢れてました。９１１倶楽部の主人公と何故かダブってしまいましたが、
同作品のもそれに負けない違った意味での「温かさ」をもった主人公だと感じました。
