5.0 out of 5 stars 単なる暴露本ではないのでは？, 2009/7/1
外務官僚がいかに下品で下劣かをこれでもかと描写している。その詳細さは当事者（相手の女性達）からのインタビュー記録でもあるのではと思わせるほど。問題は佐藤も言及しているように、おそらく「普通の秀才」に過ぎなかったであろう官僚をここまで下劣にしてしまう外務省という環境にある。これは文化人類学的な秘境ともいえる。この環境をまずかえることなしには無能で下劣な人物が重要ポストについてしまう現状は変わらないが、一体どうすれば変革は可能なのだろうか。今後、佐藤にはそうした展望について語ってもらいたい。

佐藤さんの創作領域が少し広げられたような感じを受けました。外務省の内部にいた人間ならよくご存知のことばかりなのでしょう。外部の人には決して漏らさないでも内部では公然の秘密と言うことはどの世界でもよくあります。中央官庁の内部告発的な本は時折話題になりますが、この本はかなり歪曲して描いているだけに逆に真実味があります。まともに書いたのでは関係者が大勢でてきてしまうので、真面目にやっている人たちも十羽一絡げにされかねない。そこで考え出された手法だということがあとがきにも記されていました。それにしても、何ということか、と思わずにいられませんね。また、官能小説の体をとっていますが、政治家、官僚、マスコミなどの権力層の関係やロシア・マフィアの状況など巧みに読者に情報提供が為されていると思われます。

佐藤氏の著作の系列からいうと余技的な又は夜店的な作品と思いますが、それなりに楽しく読ませて頂きました。内容的には、（１）モスクワの日本大使館勤務時代に自ら偽造領収書を作成し裏ガネ作りに加担したことを認めたくだり（90頁）や（２）外務省幹部の情報には守衛さんが一番詳しい（95頁）、（３）免疫のない女性外交官こそセックスで失敗しがち（130頁）といった指摘が目を惹きました。（尤も、例えば「週16回」の話（179頁）や「3階トイレ」の話（203頁）のように他の著作で既に使われたエピソードも散見されるので、その意味では若干「二番煎じ」的な感じがしないでもありません。）

佐藤氏自身の自分評と思しき部分も面白い。「加藤氏はカルバン派のキリスト教徒なので、性的に平均的外務官僚よりは禁欲的だが、権力闘争で相手を徹底的に叩きのめすことに快感を覚える人物だ。カルバンが異端者を火あぶりにするのを好んだのに似ている。人間としては加藤氏の方が陰険だ」（136頁）。

それにしても、（全ての外交官がそうではないのかも知れませんが）外交官の蓄財メカニズム（例えば、スティルマン美紀恵氏）の下品さは何ということか（158頁、186頁など）。こういうのは本当に許せない。
