内容はとても良いのですが（難しいデリバティブの仕組みを、読者に語りかけるように懇切丁寧に解説etc.）、訳がいまいち。「債券部」と訳すべきfixed income divisionを証券業務部とか、「投資銀行業務」であるべきinvestment bankingを投資金融とか、わけの分からない訳語が多い。業務の経験者に監修してもらうべきでした。徳間書店さんも本づくりが雑ですね。せっかくいい本なのに。

投資銀行について興味がある方が読まれると面白いと思います。「投資銀行残酷物語」ほどではありませんが、業界の暴露話も入っています。90年代前半にFirst Boston（現CSFB）とMorgan StanleyでRAVなどのﾃﾞﾘﾊﾞﾃｨﾌﾞｽﾞの営業を担当した経験を元に、いかに顧客から金を巻き上げるかを追求し続ける投資銀行の慣習が面白おかしく（大げさに）書かれています。専門用語もたくさん出てきますが、分かりやすく説明もしてあるので、気楽に読めると思います。とにかくこの業界を目指す方は、ぜひ！

モルガン・スタンレーのデリバティブを懇切丁寧・赤裸々に書いてある。どういう取引でいくら儲けたかまで正確に書かれているので、納得がいく。文章表現も多彩で、邦銀に売る巨大粉飾デリバティブを殺人ロケットに見立て、それをモルガン・スタンレーのチームが丹精込めて整備して行く様子など、非常に面白くワクワクさせれれた。レズリー・ダウナーの「血脈」もそうだったが、欧米のノンフィクションは、文芸作品としても優れていると改めて認識させられた。
