映画の方を先に観た方が多いかと思いますが、ぜひ原作にもトライしてみて下さい。こちらの方がはるかに物語に広がりがあり、最終的には映画の世界観を引っくり返してさえしまいます。

絵柄はシンプルではありませんし物語りも複雑で重いですから、好き嫌いは分かれると思います。作者は本職の漫画描きではないので、はじめのうちはやや読みにくいと感じるかもしれませんが、話が進むに連れて作者も、読み手のあなたも慣れてくるから大丈夫です。この一巻を読み終えて、「これはいける！」と思ったら、あとは残りの巻を一ぺんに買ってしまうとよいでしょう。二巻以降完全に映画から離れた内容になりますから、一気読みをお勧めします。

文明崩壊後の汚染された世界において、二大勢力の衝突を横に、一人の貴族の少女が、さらなる汚染や崩壊を止めようと動きながら、世界の謎に迫っていく。優れた物語進行。異界の構想、戦場の現実、上空での立ち合い等々卓越した描写。

小学生の頃感銘を受けた映画の印象が壊れるのを恐れて、大人になった今まで読むのを控えていました。それは正解でした。物語は皆様のおっしゃる通り傑作です。しかし、子供が読むには残虐描写が多すぎます。でもそれは物語上避けられない部分でしょうから、今から読む方には、可能ならそういう描写が受け止められるまで、待ってみてはどうでしょうか？　物語は、大変興味深く、風の谷でのシーンが少ないですが、クシャナが映画の何倍も素敵ですよ。
