本を手にとって、誌面の紙質やページ数的にも第一印象で、パンフレット的と思いました。ちなみにオールカラーです。
徳間書店刊なので過去のアニメージュからの画も多数が再掲載。
劇場用の場面写真も多くは無いですがそれなりに掲載されています。どちらかと言うと価値があるのは設定資料画でしょうか？
キャラクターデザインの江端里沙さんによる映画メインビジュアルのシェリルの衣装ネタは設定画を見て納得しました。
あとMay'nちゃんが好きな「鯛焼き」もアイテム化されている事も興味深いですね。
しかし、劇場用のメカ資料は掲載されていません。

制作スタッフからのインタビューに関しては河森監督へのみとなっています。
現時点では映画公開前なので内容は話せる可能な範囲で語られています。
マクロスFのTV版を一通り観ている人、または映画版で初めての人も楽しめるようにと単なるTV版の編集には終わらないように新しい要素をかなり意識している事が理解できました。
大画面と音響で観れるのも劇場版ならではであり、周りの観客と一緒に体感を共有して欲しい旨の話もありました。

他は「マクロスF」TV版の全話解説と簡単に主要＆各ゲストキャラ設定画もあり。
過去のマクロスシリーズも端的に紹介されています。

この本に掲載の設定資料も大きさの違いはあれど各アニメ雑誌に掲載されているでしょうし、今まで「マクロスF」関連の本を持っている方には必要性は薄いとも感じました。ですので店頭で見れる場合は要判断してから購入する事をお勧めします。

最後に、この本は映画公開前を過ぎると物足り無い内容になると思います。でも、そこは徳間書店、今回は簡易的なロマンアルバムの印象ですが、劇場公開後は下記も刊行と、別の誌面で広告を見ました。

普通にアニメ雑誌を購読していたら知っているようなのばかりでイマイチでした
アニメージュに載ってたイラストが掲載されてるのは有り難かったです

マクロスFに注目してる人なら既出の情報も多かったですが、今までの情報がダイジェストに読めるのでゆっくり楽しめました。
劇場版公開もそろそろカウントダウンなので、今一度読み返して情報の整理と期待感を盛り上げるのに役立ちました。
カラーページが多いのもいいです。
劇場公開チラシ第2弾のイラストも入ってます。
チラシ入手できなかった人も安心です。
