宋の全盛期を代表する英傑である包拯と狄青が揃って登場する内容です。
そのため、どうしても小説の域を出ませんが、フィクションとして受け流すには惜しい内容だと思います。
宋代の華やかさを想像しながら武侠の清々しさを楽しむことができ、とても印象深い作品でした。

数多くある井上さんの作品の中で、これが一番良いですね。
舞台としては、どちらかと言えば、五王みたいに歴史を軸にして、人物が展開していくというパターンが思い浮かんだのですが、これは、主人公が軸で、歴史はあくまでも背景に過ぎません。
とにかく、これは読んでみないことには損です。
