恥ずかしながらこの文庫で初めて星野さんと出会いました。
最初はエッセイとも知らず、男性かと思って購入。

しかし性別は私と同じ女性、年齢が私より少し上なだけで近いこと、住んでいる場所も馴染みのある場所、猫が好き等、親近感が湧いたのもつかの間、読み進んでいくうちに「親近感」などを持ったのが失礼にあたるほど、星野さんの日常の一コマに対する想いが込められていると感じました。

星野さんの文章はわかりやすく、ページも短いもので3〜4ページ。
私が抱いていても文章に出来ない日常を簡潔に、ノスタルジックな思い出とともに綴られています。

ひとつ読むごとにいろいろと考えさせられ（ちっとも嫌じゃない）、星野さんの幼少の頃の思い入れが羨ましく感じ、懐かしく感じ、一緒に憤慨したり、共感したり、時に涙がこぼれそうになり、読み終えるのが惜しいと思いました。
