事件自体は深刻なのだが、登場人物のキャラで軽妙洒脱な展開になっている。特に主人公のジョーイがユニークでいい・・・というところまではいいんだが、正直言ってあまり面白くないんだよなー。これって齢のせいでスィートスポットが狭くなったのかな？と心配になってしまう。この作品も2007年のベストに挙げられた作品なんだよね。この作品は一種のおとぎ話なんだが、解説で持ち上げているほどの感激は無かったね。もっともシビアで地道な内容だけがいいというわけでもないとも思っております。

　毎度お馴染みフロリダ・エヴァーグレースを舞台にしたハイアセンお得意の群像喜劇の最新作。
　夫婦仲はうまくいっていると思っていたのに,結婚記念旅行の客船から海に突き落とされたヒロイン・ジョーイ。何故,夫は自分を殺そうとしたのか,どうやって復讐してやろうか？
　奇人変人の人物造型には以前から定評のあった著者だが,この作品でもその才能を遺憾なく発揮している。特に毛むくじゃらの怪人トゥールのスゴイこと。この人物を読むだけでも充分読む価値がある。
　ストーリーテリングの見事さは言うまでも無く,更に田村義進氏の軽妙な訳文が素晴らしい。
　最初から最後までクスクス笑い,時折大爆笑。気が早いが今年の｢このミス｣ベストテン間違いない快作!

カール・ハイアセンの本はタイトルや登場人物こそ違うけれども、ほとんどおなじプロットで、
もちろん、この「復讐はお好き？」という最新作も同じ。

夫が妻を事故に見せかけて殺すために、結婚記念日にいったクルーズ中の船から突き落とす。
彼女（妻）は運良く（運悪く？）サメにも食べられず、生き延びて島にたどり着く。
そこで知り合った男性と、警察の協力を得ずに夫に復讐を、自分に尊厳を取り戻そうと奮闘する。

”警察や権力の力を使わずに、事件を解決する”というあらすじはいつも
あまり代わり映えはしないのだけれど、主人公の発言に思わず納得させられてしまったり、
あまりにもテンポがよく運のよい主人公についつい引き込まれてしまいます。

文庫本で少し分厚いので、通勤電車で読むのには不向きですが、週末に一気に読んで楽しい話でした。
