まぎれもなくスティーブンキングの世界が広がっている作品です。

表題になっている短編は、
ロックンロールと死という関連を想起させるテーマをずばり描いています。

ありえない設定を次々と恐怖を描いてきた、
モダンホラーの祖、キングの本質が改めて思い出させてくれる一作です。

気軽に読むにはよい短編集です。

　ナイトシフトにスケルトンクルー。
　以前からキングの短編は大好きだ。しかし、今回の短編集はちょっと読みづらかった。
　
それでもキングの抜群の筆力は感じられる。
　
　この短編集に関しては荒唐無稽な物語が多く、排水管から「指」が出てきたり、ひきがえるが降った
りする話がある。正直なところちょっと引いてしまう。

　ストーリーに強引さがあり、「あり得ないなぁ。」と思いながらも、キングの精緻で、かつ、鋭い描
写にぐいぐい引き込まれるのだが、寝る間も惜しんで続きが読みたい！という程でもない。
