おもしろく、一気に読んだ。
ならば☆5つだろうと、思われるかもしれない。
大沢在昌フアンとしては、彼のいくつかの女性主人公の作品と比べてみてしまった。
もちろんその中でも、ピカいちのものだと思う。
それでも、☆を減じてしまったのは、その分おもしろくなかったからでも、お薦めしないからでもない。
この作品は、まさに一級のハードボイルド、お薦めすべき本だと思う。

一人の女性の、まさに壮絶な戦い。
その戦う相手は。。。過去の自分。過去の自分の置かれた状況、人間関係、等々、全て。
多分、彼女がその後の人生で、普通に目立たぬ、市井の女性(例えば誰かの奥さんにおさまって、主婦をしているとか、あるいはごく普通の勤め人とか）なら、きっと過去との戦いは起こる必要もなかったのかもしれない。
でも、彼女は、その過去との決別を言わばバネにして、そして大いなる資質に変えて、成功してしまったんだなぁ。
それも、裏の世界で。

だから、彼女の過去は彼女を追ってきてしまう。
ここからは先は、是非ご一読を。

この壮絶な(何せ、自分と戦うんだもの)戦いは、まさに女性でないと耐え、切り抜けられなかったのではないか。
こうなると、男の方が意気地なしに見える。
そこんところの、女性の男に向けた厳しい刃が、読者としての自分をたじろがせたのかもしれないな。微妙に題名に違和感を覚えるところと、このたじろぎが、☆一個減だったとご容赦ください。

裏社会独特の、ほとんど「いい人」が出てこないやりきれない気分は、馳星周の一連の作品にも通じる。
その中で一筋の明るさ、やすらぎを与えてくれるのが、女装のホモの、元警官、と言うところが、なんだかおかしくって、うれしかったな。

引き続き、シリーズとして第二作が出ている。
魔女の盟約
よかった、彼女は、無事生きているんだ。

闇の世界のお話というのは、なぜこうもワクワクするのでしょうか。
自分が全く無縁の世界にいるからなのでしょう。
娼婦を稼業とさせられてしまい、その経験を通して男性を見抜く主人公。
彼女にかかる追っ手。
主人公は魅力的、プロットもいかにも闇の世界で良いのですが
何かが足りません。
島に閉じ込められる、島からの足抜けは許されないという設定が
何かちょっとリアリティが薄いのです。
島から何か持ち出した、島に門外不出の秘密がある・・・などという
これなら追っ手もかかるわなぁ・・・というストーリーをもうひとつかましていただけると
もっと緊張感があったのかなぁと思います。
魅力的な主人公の思いつめた気分みたいなものが薄い感じなのです。
エンターテインメントとして文庫で読むならまずます。
ただし、大沢さんの作品としては仕上がりが微妙かなぁと思いました。

面白かった。
最初は謎の特技（男の人を見抜く力）を利用して次々と難敵を葬り去っていくテンポのよさで一気に読んだ。後半になればなるほど、主人公の過去が明らかになっていき、それに合わせストーリーもその過去と関連して、クライマックスへ。
簡単に人を殺したりするのは気持ちよくないが、ストーリーは面白かった。続編もあるとのこと。読んでみたいと率直に思った。
