この著者の本は好きです。
経済とか、金融とか、興味はあるけど、あんまり詳しくありません。ソロスとかグリーンスパンとか、実在の人物の名前が出てきて、どこまでが実在するストーリーでどこからが作り話なのかよくわからなかったが、難しい部分もなんとなく読み進めていけました。

○○億ドルとか、○○億円とか、普段あまり考えない桁の金額が出てきます。現実の生活では、１９８円の牛乳を買おうか、２０８円の飲むヨーグルトを買おうか迷うような生活をしている自分にはその額の大きさがあまりピンとこなかったのですが、多分すごい金額なんだろうなぁと思いながら読みました。

同じ著者の｢夏のロケット｣を読んだ時もそうだったのですが、仲間っていいなぁと思います。読後はなんとなくさわやかな気分になり、自分も頑張ろうという気分になりました。

あくまで、これは金融ではなく『マネー』についての小説だと思う。

目的は別だが手段は同じ「マネー稼ぐ」。
そんな三人が金融の世界に乗り出していくわけだが、ただの金儲けで終わらない彼らの姿は、どこか青春のようなものさえ感じる。

マネー、とは何か？

主人公はそれを、自分の価値を計るもの、としている。
小説内での言及は、信用としてのマネー、哲学対象としてのマネー、歴史を含んだものとしてのマネーと、広範囲に及ぶ。

ホリエモンの一件や、そうでなくてもデイトレードや株について身近になった現代、自分とマネーのあり方について一考するきっかけになる良書であると、僕は思う。

本書は金融小説である。が、しかし青春小説でもあった。
（青春ってほど若い世代の話でもないけども）
金とは何か？金を稼ぐって何？金は公正である。しかし金によって
自身が評価されるわけではない。私たちにとって金は必要なものでは
あるが、依存するものではない・・・。解りきっていることだけども
多くの人が金に頼っている。そんな私自身の葛藤とこの作品のキャラクター達（やはり、主人公）の心情はとても理解しやすく、又考えさせられるものでした。初版時に読んだ時と今回、文庫本で読んだ時とで
既に6年の歳月が流れていたけども、改めて読み返して「計れないことは自由である」と言った意味も解った気がしました。
