　すべての女性が持っているであろう、おなかの中のもやもやしたもの。
　それを中村うさぎは「ショッピング」という、行為によって、浄化できるか挑戦してくれています。
　それを文章にできるところが中村うさぎのすごいところです。
　しかも、笑わせてくれるなんて。
　しかし、単純な笑いをもってこのシリーズを読み続ける女性は、おそらくいないと思います。
　なぜなら、自分のおなかのなかにある、とぐろを巻いたおぞましいものを、じっくりみつめなくてはいけないから。
　『ショッピングの女王』シリーズ・・。
　これは、中村うさぎとともに、「自分探し」なんて生やさしい言葉ではくくれない、とんでもない「自分の中の欲望」と向き合うための書です。
　そして中村うさぎは「自分で稼ぎ」エルメスを買いまくるのです。
　ここに、全く「甘え」のないフェミニズムというものを、私達女性はは突きつけられるのです。

とにかく著者である中村ウサギのお金の使いっぷりの良さは読んでいて小気味がいい。あァ~、何でそんなことにお金を使っちゃうの？　とヤキモキしながら、でもそれも他人事だからおもしろい。 週刊文春でコラムを読み始めたときは、言葉づかいの悪さに閉口したけれど次第に慣れて、このぺースにのせられると、次にどんな失敗（？）をするのかが楽しみになってきます。是非一読を。鬱憤が溜まると買い物に走る人にはうってつけの書、です。

ジュニア小説家の書いた買い物依存症生活について書いた爆笑エッセイです。ブランド物、通販、高価な着物、美容商品など、その衝動買いの様子は興味深いです。借金をして、その支払いのために、質に入れたり、売ったりとその行動は興味深いです。でも、なぜか、欲しい物を一瞬っでも手に入れられれば、それで幸せかもと思わされます。一見、物欲のかたまりのですが、本当は物に執着してないようです。一時の悦楽を得るために金を惜しんでいないようです。そんな生き方に共感できる部分があるかもしれません。テンポの良い小気味良いエッセイで飽きません。面白いです。私は2日ほどで読み終えました。また、詐欺まがいの商法の手口についてもわかり、勉強になります。
