鉄道員、ラブレター、浅田次郎氏の作品の3冊目です。とても面白かったし、読んで泣いてしまいました。でも時間が経つうちに感動の中から析出した沈砂のようなものが溜まるような感じがしています。この本の中の恋愛は男のメルヘンで女性向けではないのかもしれません。面白かったし泣きましたが、友人に尋ねられたら「面白かったけど…。」という感じです。

７編の短編を収めた。いずれも浅田次郎は上手に涙腺のツボを押してくる。別れた恋人、親子の情愛、後戻りはできない人生、孤独、不倫愛、人生の決断、・・・いろいろな要素からつむぎだされた作品たち。ただ人情話がうまいというだけではなく、語り口もうまい。表題作の「月のしずく」の主人公の冒頭の独白、「銀色の雨」の関西弁など、登場人物が語る生き生きとしたせりふ回しには本当に上手だと思う。
本作で印象的なのは、表題作の「月のしずく」。ひょんなことから銀座の若いホステスを家に泊めることになった、４０がらみの独り者の荷役人夫。しがない作業員として、独りで生きてきた男の前に現れた美女に男は・・・。

「ピエタ」。６歳のとき、駆け落ちして自分を捨てた母親。別れ際、母が言った「いい子にしていればもどってくる」と言う言葉をずっと信じて「いい子になろう」と生きてきた３０歳の娘。２４年ぶりの母親との再会。

「聖夜の肖像」。表向きは幸せな家庭生活を営んでいるように見える美しい人妻は、その実、２０数年前、パリ留学中に同棲していた画学生の男を忘れられずにいた。聖夜の夜、表参道で出会った中年の似顔絵書きは・・・。
いつもこういうのだとなんだけど、たまに読む浅田節は効いちゃうんだな・・・。

大阪への出張用に買う｡「鉄道員」の後継シリーズ。とにかくうまい｡男のメルヘンをメルヘンとして成り立たせる仕組みを巧みに用意する｡なくなって行くもの。例えばなぎさ。例えば仕事｡得られなかった物。例えば母の愛｡そして、失いたくないもの｡例えば純情、例えば信義。自分と波長が会う分、ちょっと距離をおきたくなる｡
