著者略歴 (「BOOK著者紹介情報」より)

北村 薫
昭和24(1949)年、埼玉県生れ。早稲田大学第一文学部卒業。大学在学中はミステリ・クラブに所属。高校で教鞭を執りながら、昭和59年、創元推理文庫版日本探偵小説全集を編集部と共同編集。平成元(1989)年、「空飛ぶ馬」でデビュー。平成3年、「夜の蝉」で日本推理作家協会賞受賞(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

5.0 out of 5 stars ふとした出会いを〈待ち伏せ〉とみなす心, 2006/9/22
「待ち伏せ」には参りました。この手の書名には引っかかるまいと、敬遠していたのですが、ふとのぞき見てしまいました。これまでに出合った詩歌の数々が自分を「ふい討ち」したとみなすのですから、その感受性の鋭さに驚かされるわけです。著者は団塊の世代生まれのようですが、経てきた人生の街角でふと出合った行きずりの詩歌の一節に「おののき」を感じていて、今書いているものにうまく紡ぎ合わせるのです。我々日常生活での「待ち伏せ」には魂胆・下心が感じられてイヤな気もしないではありませんが、「やあ、ここにいらっしたんですか」と言える詩歌に出会えるのは、人生のささやかな喜びのように思えてきます。詩歌に限らず、気の効いた言葉の切れ端でも、心に響くものはあるような気がします。言語感覚の鋭さですか（雅）

この先生に教わった生徒達はなんて幸福な生徒達だったんでしょう。
詩歌の魅力を分かり易く説明してくれる。その語り口は柔らかく、それでいて詩歌への愛情、語らずにはいられない情熱に満ちていている。
詩に馴染みがなく、知らない詩、どころか知らない詩人も登場するのですが、その魅力をたっぷりと味わうことができました。
北村先生、ありがとうございました。

北村薫氏が博識であることは、彼を知っている人にとっては常識なのだろう。
日本の古典に詳しく、海外のミステリーから純文学、詩まで手広く読んでいて、漢文も強いし、落語についてもいやに詳しい。
文学との出会いのチャンスを与えてくれる役割と、文学界のうわさ話に触れる楽しみを提供してくれる。
文学のミーハー族向けですね。
ある文学作品をとりあげて・・・この場合は詩歌ですが・・・そこから芋づる式に次の詩歌や文学、書き手について話題が移っていく。　そういう本です。
