宮本 輝
昭和22(1947)年、兵庫県に生れる。追手門学院大学文学部卒業。52年、「泥の河」で第13回太宰治賞を、翌53年、「螢川」で第78回芥川龍之介賞を受賞。さらに62年、「優駿」で第21回吉川英治文学賞を受ける。芸術選奨文部科学大臣賞受賞(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

上巻のレビューにも書いたが、この作品は素敵な登場人物がたくさん出てくる。下巻まで読むと、上巻以上にいろんなメッセージが身に染みてくる。くじけそうなときに思い出すと元気が出せそうな言葉、改めて考えれば自分の周りにもいる大切な人たち。
いつの間にか忘れていた「生きていく上での大切な心構え」を思い出させてくれたように思います。単純に上巻で撒かれたストーリー上の種がどのように育っていくかという興味もありますが、やっぱり宮本作品ならではの、数々の示唆に触れることができ、心がリフレッシュできたように思います。

　久々に本格純文学を楽しんだって感じです。
　上下巻いっきに読んでしまいました。
　登場人物すべてが魅力的で、一つの一貫した筋の通っているテーマが読んでいて快かったです。
　「過去の清算」がこの小説のひとつのテーマであると思います。それを基にして広がる世界を象徴するのが「飛行蜘蛛」でしょう。
　とっても充実した読書ができました。心がスッキリします。でも、深い。読書初心者にはお勧めしません。経験を積んでから読んで欲しいです。それだけにいい作品だと思います。

登場人物達はみんな人間関係の中でそれぞれの人生を生きている。そこにはそれぞれの事情を抱えた人達が、それぞれの思惑を抱えながら生きている。登場人物達はそのそれぞれの思惑を抱えながら、その思惑が交差する。そこに新たな感情が生まれはじめる。そしてその新しい気持ちがまた新たな物語を作り始める。そんな僕たちの生活で実感できる物語。
読後は気持ちが温かくなった。いい物語であった。
