宮本輝作品は大体読みましたが、その中でも大好きな1作です。学生である主人公の奮闘する毎日は、その年頃が抱える問題がたくさんあって大変だけれどその中で一生懸命奮闘する主人公に共感を覚えました。読後感が大変すがすがしく、元気が出てきました。年をとっても、青春時代を懐かしみながら楽しんで読むことができる1冊だと思います。

３０歳以上の方にお勧めです。

大学を卒業して１０年が経ちました。
社会人になって忘れてしまったもの、例えば一人の女性に対する不器用でひたむきな思いや、成長するための苦悩、がむしゃらさ、はじらい・・・誰もが持っていたあの甘く切ない青春時代を追体験させてくれます。

作品に感動すると言うより、自分の青春時代と重ね合わせて、そして、今の自分に足りないものを思い出させてくれます。
登場する女性達も魅力的で、昔を思い出します（笑）
読んだ後、１０年若返った気がしました。

母に宮本輝にはまっているというと、あなたも年を取ったねぇと言われました。

大学生の時に初めて読んだ。そのときは「蜥蜴の話」という印象しか残らなかった。でも「また読みたい」とずっと思っていて、ついに見つけて再読。28歳になった今、感じることはやはり少し違っているようで、心を掴まれた。読んでいてハラハラドキドキもしないし、ひどくショッキングだったりすることもあまりない、静かな物語。しかし、心の奥深くに浸透してくる感がある。数年したら、またストーリーもタイトルも忘れてしまうかもしれない。しかし「なんかいい感じだったあの本、もう一回読みたいな」って思わせる本ではないかと思う。そして、数年後にはまた涙してしまうのではないかと思う。生きることの重さや辛さ、そして楽しさを知っている人間にはたまらなく心にぐっと来るものがあるのではないだろうか。
