　Sudden Fiction第二弾は世界各国から集められたまさに新しい短編作家との出会いの場という感じがします。日本では出会う事のない貴重な作品がたくさんあって、わたしにとっては宝石のような文庫本です。しかもそれぞれ独自の世界がものすごい短い数ページのなかで表現されていて、しかもこの価格。かなりお買得です。

　何回読んでも飽きない一冊です。ぜひ第３弾を読みたいものです。

　『Sudden fiction (2) 超短編小説・世界篇』
　(柴田元幸・訳/文春文庫)は、
　姉妹編の『Sudden fiction―超短編小説70』
　（村上春樹、小川高義・訳/文春文庫）より、
　水準が高い。

　『超短編小説70』のほうは、アメリカの作家の作品、
　『世界編』には、英語圏を中心とした世界各国の作家の
　作品が集められています。
　日本語からは、川端康成の作品が１つ、収録されています。

　フランスの女流作家、コレットの、ちょっと古い作品も
　収録されています。
　それが、古くさいどころか、伸びやかで、しなやか。
　ほかの小説に交じっても、ぜんぜん違和感がないのは、
　発見でした。

　掌編小説を、味わいたい人だけでなく、
　書きたい人も必読です。
　『超短編小説70』の、「論」の部分も併読すれば、
　完璧でしょう。
