東野 圭吾
1958年、大阪生まれ。大阪府立大学電気工学科卒。エンジニアとして勤務しながら、1985年、「放課後」で第31回江戸川乱歩賞受賞。1999年、「秘密」で第52回日本推理作家協会賞受賞。2006年、「容疑者Xの献身」で第134回直木賞受賞。同書は2005年度の「週刊文春ミステリーベスト10」「このミステリーがすごい!」「本格ミステリ・ベスト10」各第一位にも輝いた(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

基本的に「殺人の門」や「白夜行」に比べて
薄い本でしたが、でも、読み終わったときには
しっかりと本格派の本を読み終えた充実感がありました。

舞台は湖岸。事件自体は、場所が子供たちの勉強合宿の場
という事を除けば、よくありそうな話。
そんな話なのに、全然普通の殺人事件にはならず
物語は全然別の方向に進もうとする。
最初は登場人物のキャラクターが明らかでなく
読み進めるうちに徐々に分かっていくという
東野作品でよく見られる手法が今回も見事にマッチしていて
事件が起こった後も、主人公以外の登場人物の非日常的な
行動に驚かされつつも、次第にのめりこんでしまいました。

それにしても、伏線の張り方が上手いですね。
ボート、靴、坂崎の豹変。
もちろん他にもありましたが、私が気になったのはこの３つ。
この３つの伏線にどういう意味があるのだろうと推理しながら読んでいましたが、
物語最初からあった大きな謎と共に、最後にピタリと全てのピースが
はまった瞬間は、やはり上手な魔術師にだまされたような
騙されたけど清清しい気分になりました。

この本は読んだほうがいいでしょう。

東野圭吾という作家の作品を初めて読みました。
とても人気がある作家なので、前々から読んでみたいと思っていました。
最初は「手紙」か「秘密」を読みたかったんですが、「レイクサイド」しかなく、
こちらを読みました。

一気に読めてしまうほど読みやすく、伏線の張り方や結末には面白さがあり、
内容も良かったのですが、人気作家にしては物足りなさを感じてしまいました。。。

最初に選んだ作品が悪かったのかもしれませんが、ものすごく期待していたので、
ちょっと残念でした。

でも他の作品にも挑戦してみたいとは思っています。

四組の親子が参加する中学受験の勉強合宿で起きた事件の話。事件は、主人公・俊介の妻が発した「あたしが殺したのよ」という一言から始まる。
前半は、事件を隠そうとする登場人物の行動や言動にスリルを感じる。後半は、事件の真相に迫り、徐々に明らかになる真相にハラハラドキドキする。
場面、場面の登場人物の不自然な対応や行動に違和感を覚えつつも、最終的にその不自然さが理解できるようになっている。この辺の著者のストーリ仕立ての巧妙さには脱帽である。
全270ページほどで、話の内容も分かりやすい。短時間で楽しめる作品である。お勧めの一冊である。
