英語の長文で出てきたのをキッカケに、手を取ってみた。興味こそあれど、何故か今まで読んでいなかったのだけれど、読んで良かった。

アンネが生きていた時代と、私が生きている時代の背景は全く違うわけだけれども、まず感じたのはいつの時代も、思春期に考えたり悩んだりすることはそう変わらないんだってこと。両親にきちんと自分を理解してもらいたい、というのはアンネだけではなく私も思っていることだし、他の多くの人も思っているだろう。一人ぼっちでもないのに、漠然とした孤独を感じる気持ちだとか。恋のことだとか愛のことだとか。エトセトラ。
そういったことが赤裸々に綴られていて、とても共感できると思う。できれば10代のうちに読みたい本。

また、人権問題や平和についての考えは、かなりのもの。ユダヤ人迫害について書かれた箇所も、見逃してはなりません。

特に、1944年5月3日の日記。今の日本にも、いや日本だけじゃなく世界にも、当てはまることがどれだけあるか。頭が痛いです。

初めて読んだとき中学生だった。
アンネに年齢が近かったせいもあり、親近感を感じた。
十代が終わり、いまやアンネの母エーディットに年齢が近くなっている現在。
色々な読みかたができるので興味深い作品。
