「旨い酒」というものは、何の抵抗もなく、身体に染み入るように「するする」と飲める。しかも悪酔いしない。
「陰陽師シリーズ」は、とびきり「旨い酒」だ。

未読の方に、はっきり申し上げよう。ワンパターンである。
物の怪（もののけ）や怪異の類がでるものの、激しいストーリーは望むべくもない。読んでいる途中で「ははん・・・。もしやすると此れは、ひょっとしてあれでは」と正体（？）が見えてしまうものもある。しかし、それで話のおもしろみが半減するということはない。「旨い酒」とはいつも同じ味であり、そしていつのんでも旨いのだ。

あいかわらずの「清明」と「博雅」の二人が良い。ゆるゆると酒をのみ、花を愛で、楽を奏で、月を見上げ、そして例の「会話」と共に出かけていき、「呪」を解き（或いは掛け）、家に戻り、またゆるゆると酒をのむ。よいではないか。こういう「はなし」があっても。

「陰陽師」という酒、まだまだ旨くなりそうだ。

　梅や桜の花の香りと、晴明、博雅が言葉を交わしながら飲む酒の香り。そして、博雅が奏でる楽の音。そうしたものが融け合い、渾然一体となってはらはらとこぼれ落ちる風情が、まことに雅（みやび）で美しく、興趣を誘われます。読みはじめる前は、もはやマンネリ化して、食傷気味になってしまうのではないか･･･と不安だったのですが、それは全く杞憂でした。一篇一篇、また一篇。読むほどに、晴明と博雅の居る不思議に麗しく、なつかしい世界の中にとりこまれ、ほのかに酩酊する心地になりましたよ。いや、やっぱりいいですねぇ、この作者の陰陽師シリーズは。
　シリーズ最新刊【夜光杯ノ巻（やこうはいのまき）】に収められている話は、九つ。「月琴姫（げっきんひめ）」「花占の女（はなうらのひと）」「龍神祭」「月突（つくづく）法師」「無呪（むしゅ）」「蚓喰（みみずく）法師」「食客下郎（しょっかくげろう）」「魔鬼物小僧（まきものこぞう）」「浄蔵恋始末（じょうぞうこいのあれこれ）」。初出は、「蚓喰法師」のみ、『異形コレクション　蒐集家（コレクター）』掲載。ほかは、『オール読物』2005年10月号〜2007年２月号掲載作品。
　村上豊の装画も、相変わらずいいなあ。今回は、天竺の天女の絵。収録作品のある話と響き合い、春宵一刻値千金、錦上花を添えています。単行本の手触りまで、素敵な一冊（笑）

陰陽師シリーズも刊を重ね、いい意味でも悪い意味でも安定してきた。
魅力的なキャラクター＋わかりやすい起承転結＋きめ台詞とくれば、
平安時代を舞台とした水戸黄門のようにも思える。
ただ、私がこのシリーズに手を伸ばしてしまうのは、やはりキャラクターに
魅力があるから。初期の作品よりも博雅のキャラクターがどんどん
のびやかに、個性的に描かれていて、単なる「ワトソン」の役に
甘んじていないのがとても良い。ファンにはお勧め。
また、シリーズを１作も読んだことがなくても楽しめる。
