’８８年バブルピーク時、銀行に就職して今は中間管理職となった慶応ＯＢたちの「その後」の悲哀。現在支店融資課長の主人公半沢は、成績アップに燃えるエリート支店長の中堅メーカーへのごり押し融資５億円がこげついた責任を押し付けられそうになり、何とか名誉挽回をと同期同窓の助けを得つつもがき苦しむ。途中からどうも中堅メーカーの倒産がただの倒産ではないことがわかりはじめてからストーリーは意外な方向に急展開していきます。著者はもと銀行マンであるだけに銀行実務・行内政治・人事などのプロットにリアリティがあり、ストーリーもテンポよくどんどん読めます。ただ後半リベンジに燃える半沢がいかにもサド的すぎるかな？という感じですがなかなか楽しめるビジネス小説です。「バブル期入社」って言葉の響き（わたしもそうなんですが）、いかにも「余ってる」「ダブついてる」というイメージでそう言われるたび「こっちも好きでバブル入社したわけじゃないんだ」と思ってましたがそういう意味で本書読後感は「爽快・痛快」でした。

自分も銀行ではないものの主人公と同じ1989年入社組なので、タイトルだけで即買いしてしまいました。
当時、銀行に入社（銀行の人は入行といいますが）するのは大変でしたが、まさか今のような状況になるとは誰も思っていませんでした。
内容はご都合主義のようなところもありますが、とにかく楽しく読めてよかったです。
バブル期（特に平成元年から３年まで）に金融機関に入社した人なら買って損はないのではないでしょうか。

池井戸さんの今までの作品とは少し感じが違います。銀行ミステリなのですが、バブル全盛時の「協定破り」とか「拘束」とか、懐かしい時代風景が効果的に挿入されていて、あの年代を経験した人にはある感慨を持って読める本。本筋の融資＋計画倒産＋回収の駆け引きにも引き込まれましたが、「入行組」とあるので、半沢以外ももっと”活躍”させて欲しかったです。

読後感は悪くないです。（あの選択はミイラ取りがミイラになった感じがあって、ちょっと気になります。）特に主人公・半沢の最後の言葉が良い。ホント、夢を持ち続けることは難しいですから。でも、半沢の”志望動機”、すごすぎますというか、ちょっと怖い？この筆者の今までの主人公とは、ちょっと違いますね。

本編の筋とは直接かんけいありませんが、倒産に関わる説明、特に銀行内のアドミに関する説明は一読の価値あり。爆笑＆納得します。
