評価するか否かは別にして、とにかく驚いた。
それも一気に「うひゃあ！」でなく、「え？」（ちょっと読み返す）
→「ええ？」（最初の方を読み返す）→「えええ？！」（理解する）
と３段階くらいに渡って“じっくり”たまげる。
本格派ミステリーを好む人には「疑惑のホームラン」みたいな小説。
僕はそれも含めて楽しめたけどね。

　こういう騙され方をした事がない。やっぱりそこが面白いと思いました。
　ドラマを映像で鑑賞する機会の多い現代人の一人として、これを映像で表現しようとする場合、どうすれば良いのだろう？と、思わず考えてしまいました。とかく映画やテレビドラマの方がお手軽に楽しめて繁栄する一方で、小説というメディアは衰退して行く一途の様にも思えるのですが、うん、こういった小説にしか表現出来ないストーリーというものが有り得るのか、と、考えさせられます。そういう意味で、思考実験的な面白さがあるのではないかと思います。
　同時に、もしこれを映像化できたら、きっとすごくファンタジックで素敵なものになりそう。そう感じられるのも、この小説のキモである最後のシーンに到るまでの運びが、なかなかお洒落でカッコいいからだと思います。そして、人の心というものは幾つになっても変わらないのだ、本当のカッコよさは内面にこそあるのだ、という、作者の人間に対する温かい視点があるからだと思いました。

いや、あと少しで終わりかけという時にとんでもないことがわかるのだが、これを言ってしまうと大なしなので言わない。読んでみてください。
読み終わってようやくちょっと奇妙な題に納得がいく。
好き嫌い分かれるようだが、好き嫌いではなく仕掛けの意外性、珍しさは特筆できるのではないか。
肩透かしを食った、という人もいるが、読み手の○○によるかもしれない。これを書くとネタがばれてしまうのであえて伏字。
ともかくも一度読んでみると面白い。
こういうのもありなのだ。
ものを書く人にはいい勉強になるだろう。
