タイトルに書きましたが、クリスマスに限らず、いつ読んでも、何度読んでもすばらしいの一言。
作者のカポーティー自身が大好きだっただけあって、全編愛にあふれた傑作だと思います。
プラス村上春樹の名訳と、山本容子のセンスいっぱいの挿絵、装丁も含めて全てが最高。

私はクリスマスシーズン毎に読み返していますが（もう何回読んだことでしょう）毎回変わらず感動しています。
３５番さんも書いていますが、大げさでなく星６つの価値は十分あります。
コンパクトでとてもおしゃれな装丁なので、プレゼントにも最適だと思います。

クリスマスの準備をわくわくしながらした子供の頃のことを思い出しました。 外は寒いけれど、台所ではケーキの焼ける香りがし、ちりちりと燃えるストーブの音も聞こえてきそうです。 山本容子さんの、銅版画も素朴であたたかくとても綺麗でした。 あたたかくて、ピュアで、少し悲しいクリスマスのお話です。

友達に読んでもらいたくて、クリスマスにプレゼントしたらとても喜ばれました。

　ふっと子供のころを振り返ってみると、たくさん不思議なことがあって、毎日があっという間に過ぎていました。両親が共働きの家庭で育ったため、僕にいろいろなことを教えてくれるのは、祖母の役目でした。よく夕食を一緒につくったものでした。そんな昔をなつかしく思うとき、この本を読み返したくなります。また、この本のもつ素晴らしさを、たくさんの人に伝えたいです。
