ケイロニアからの使節が到着し、クリスタルはその歓迎のあわただしさに包まれていた。しかしマリウスは、自らの去就を決めあぐね、パロ側でもその存在をもてあましていた。一方、催眠治療の結果、グインの記憶は古代機械に深く関係していることが明らかになり、グインを古代機械のもとへ連れて行ったところ、一度封印された機械がよみがえり、彼の体を光線で覆い、ついにその記憶を失踪以前のものに「修正」してしまった。

仕事が忙しかったのもあるが……発刊していたことすら忘れていた……
それくらい以前に比べて興味が薄れているグインサーガ。

前巻の記憶修正にもがっかりしたのですが、フロリーの出立にかかるイライラとする展開に疲れ切ってしまいました。
作者の体調が良くないので「仕方ない」と思ってしまうのか、一定のレベルでエンタテイメントとして成立させて欲しいと望むのか……作品としては不満がやはり残ってしまいます。

ミロク教の伏線をたっぷりと張っていますが、風呂敷を広げるよりは今ある商品を是非魅力的に売って欲しいと思います。

内容はマリウスの愚痴とリンダの愚痴とフロリーの愚痴で丸々一冊埋め尽くされています。
正直、こういうシーンは推敲してほしいやも；
グインにはたまにありますよね、読み飛ばしたくなる巻が。

読者それぞれ好きなキャラ、嫌いなキャラたくさんあるでしょうが、私の場合は物語を進展させない登場人物が苦手です。同じことを延々と繰返す、マリウスのながいセリフがあるとうんざりくるし、最近のフロリーも同様です。この二人が登場すると物語がまったく進展せずに、同じようなやりとりだけで多くのページ費やされていくような気がします。
今回フロリーはクリスタルを旅立つのですが、その直前のマリウスとリンダとのやりとりだけで、１００ページほどの長さがあります。これはいくらなんでもかかりすぎです。
肝心のグインの記憶についてはヨナの考察だけで特に進展なし。
が、ミロク教に関して大きな動きがあります。今回興味を引いたのはそれだけです。果たして偉大な導き手とは誰なのか？自分なりの予測はあるのですが・・キタイのあの人？
