斬新な感じで始まったスピードグラファーも、主人公とヒロインの逃避行に敵の襲来…とマンネリ化するのかと思っていましたが、いわば悪役の水天宮の過去が語られ、彼の目的が分かる巻でした。
全体的に変体度の高い人たちが多いストーリーですが、水天宮の幼少時代からの壮絶な過去を知ると、彼の目的もある程度理解できるし、いままで曖昧にされていた「何故？」の部分が見えてきます。
主人公とヒロインの関係などにも変化が見られ、面白かったです。
アニメよりも詳細に書かれているので、アニメを見た人でも楽しめます。個人的に残念だったのは、辻堂・真壁・新治の三人組の過去が、アニメ以上に書かれるのではと期待していたのですが、そこらへんはあまり触れられていませんでした。

TVアニメの11話から17話を元に小説化したものです。
テンポ良く、1日かからず読み終えましたが、あとに残るものはたいして有りません。
表面のストーリーを追っているだけのように思えました。
唯一悪役側首魁の過去を描いた部分が面白かったです。
彼がどうして現在の行動をしているのかが、その部分から理解できました。
悪にも、悪になる納得できる理由付けがされています。
でもそれ以外の脇の方々は、まるでショッカーの戦闘員と同じ描き方で、一瞬で消えていきます。
それぞれに過去があるような伏線を振っておきながら、まったく生かされていませんね。
1巻のレビューにも書きましたが、作者の方が読者に伝えたいことは何なのでしょうか。
アニメの小説化にそんなことを期待するほうが間違っているのでしょうか。
