田中 啓文
1962年、大阪府生まれ。神戸大学卒。1993年、長篇『凶の剣士』が第2回集英社ファンタジーロマン大賞に佳作入選して作家デビュー。『十兵衛錆刃剣』などのヤングアダルトSFを発表した後、1998年の伝奇ホラーSF『水霊 ミズチ』以降は一般文芸の世界に進出、SF・ホラー・ミステリなどのジャンルを超えた活躍を続ける。2001年のSF短篇集『銀河帝国の弘法も筆の誤り』(ハヤカワ文庫JA)の表題作で星雲賞日本短編部門を受賞、2003年のSF長篇『忘却の船に流れは光』(ハヤカワSFシリーズJコレクション)で日本SF大賞候補となる。(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

書名は説明の必要がない程の「例の本」のパロディで、内容はSF短編集
なのですが、パロディ、ダジャレのオンパレード！

新刊案内で書名を見てから発売を待ち望んでいましたが、期待以上でした。
抱腹絶倒間違いなし！~

　以前、「異形コレクション」のシリーズで読んだ著者の短編から強烈な印象を受けたこともあり、装丁にも惹かれて読んでみることにした。読む前は、駄洒落満載の馬鹿馬鹿しいだけの話なんだろうと思っていたのだが、どうしてどうして、読み始めたら止まらないストーリーそのものの面白さにあふれていた。

　ウルトラセブンに夢中になった思い出をくすぐってくれ、いっそ清々しいまでのアホなスケールの話の展開に引き込まれた「地球最大の決戦　終末怪獣エビラビラ登場」。
　一時期、山田正紀の小説にハマったあの興奮が、あのワクワクさせられた読書体験が甦ってきた「やまだ道　耶麻霊サキの青春」。

　そして、「怨臭の彼方に」の話には笑った笑った、腹の皮がよじれるくらいに。美貌の男優が、永遠の命と引き換えにある取引をして、それが凄いことになっていく話。筒井康隆の「関節話法」を読んだ時以来かなあ、こんなにぐふぐふ笑ったのは。電車の中とか待合室とかで読んでたらと思うと……。そうじゃなくて、ああ、よかった。

　なお、表題作「蹴りたい田中」が第130回茶川賞を受賞している。にもかかわらず、謎の失踪を遂げた田中啓文氏。そこには一体どんな経緯があったのか？
　その謎にもきっちり答えを出し、決着させている本書の潔さ。思わず脱力してしまうアホらしさ。問答無用の面白さ。

　山田正紀、恩田陸、菅 浩江といった著名な寄稿諸氏のあきれ顔、困惑顔が透けて見えるような文章に、決してめげることなどないだろう田中氏の今後の活躍に、一読者として大いに期待したい。

　まいったなぁ。これほどまでに徹底的にやられると。
　筒井康隆や小松左京、星新一、達が活躍し、山田正紀や、横田順彌、堀晃、かんべむさし等の若手が颯爽と登場した時代に「ハチャメチャSF」という言葉がありましたが、この言葉を久々に思い出した一作になりました。
　当時のSF界は成長期のエネルギーが充ち満ちていてましたが、「蹴りたい田中」には、これを彷彿とさせる力がありました。
　正統派のバカバカしさ満載。抱腹絶倒保証付き。
　「蹴りたい背中」を読んでいなくても問題なし！
　本当に何か文学賞を取って欲しい一冊です。どうかご一読を。
