おどろおどろしい新登場人物にやや救われた感もあるが、まだるこい筋運びとセリフ回しは相変わらず。戦闘描写もワンパターン。戦闘そのものはあいまいで、戦場の広がりも感じられない。それともあまりにグィンが強すぎるのだろうか？

これまた強すぎるヤンダルゾックの魔術や竜頭の兵士などが出て来て以来、中原世界のストーリーが人間対魔界のような構図になってしまい、人物描写も平板な印象。

シリーズ初期の頃にあったキビキビした文章と多彩な登場人物、おどろおどろしい魔道、鮮やかな戦場シーンが懐かしい。日本にヒロイックファンタジーを広げようという気概が感じられたあの頃にもどりたい・・・
惰性でしか読めない作品になっている

ようやく話が動きだしたのだろうか。それだけでほっとしてしまった。
読ませる部分もあったし、戦闘シーンもあった。今一つ乗り切れないのは、こちらが年をとったせいなのか…どうも現実の戦争を思い出してしまったのは何故だろう。ヒロイックファンタジーの戦争と現代戦、本来なら重なるはずもないのだけれど。魔道の設定のせいか。

このところメインキャラが二極化し始めたのを感じる。うだうだと悩み他人に頼りいつまでも同じことを繰り返す人々と、悩みなど何もないかのように圧倒的な力で状況を蹴散らしていく人々と。これがリアリティなのだろうか。何か違う気もする。
単体で見るなら最近としては読める内容。しかし、シリーズとしては？？

後書き、もうやめたらどうか。百害あって一利無し。

今回の最大のハイライトは、なんといってもタイトル通り、アモン登場、にあるでしょう。アルド・ナリスの死後、がっかりしていたファンにも、美しくて邪悪な大型キャラクターの登場は、今後の展開を楽しみにさせるものがあるでしょう。物語は、グインとイシュトバーンが連合軍でクリスタル・パレスを目指して闘う途中なのですが、なんともその戦いが魔道に満ち満ちていて、怪しげになっていきます。まだまだワクワクするようなストーリーが待ち受けていそうな気持ちにさせられ、次巻が出るのを楽しみに待つ気分になりました。
