星界の紋章1,2,3と星界の戦記1,2,3,4の７冊が出版されています。
でも、7冊目の戦記4で話は終わってません。
すっごく盛り上がったところで「つづく」になっています。
星界の紋章1の初版が1996年で戦記４が2004年なので、
９年で７冊出版されています。最後まで、あと２、３年かかりそうです。

しかし、本シリーズは、２巻の紋章２（ささやかな戦い）が最も
価値が高い頂点です。２巻まで読めば、必ず何かを得られます。
少女マンガのような表紙や、SFというジャンルで判断すると
もったいないと思います。
本書は、大人も読める価値の高い本です。

星界の世界では、様々な人間、国家の考え方があり、それが深く書き込まれているというのがこの本の１つの魅力である。まったく違った文化からの出身であるジントとラフィ-ルの掛け合いはとても面白く、その掛け合いによって描き出されるアーヴという種族の考え方や、分化、そして生き方もまた、実に深くて面白い。なかでも、様々な文化につきものの「言語」では、独特のいいまわしや慣用句が多く登場し、アーヴが使うアーヴ語が本編にルビとしてふられているという徹底ぶりである。
また、星界はキャラクターも魅力である。キャラ個人個人が自分なりの信念を持っているので、読んでいてこきみよい。なかでも、強烈なキャラのラフィ-ルに惚れ込んでいるひとは少なくはないだろう。

まだまだ語り尽くせない魅力が星界にはあるが、ここより先は読んでみて実感していただくのがよいと思う。アニメを見た方も、アニメでは語られていないエピソードがたくさんあるのでぜひ読んでいただきたい。

突如出現した、謎の大艦隊。 その時から、ジントの運命は大きく変わる。 貴族になったジントは、帝都に行くために軍艦に乗るが、そこで、かれは皇帝の孫のラフィールと出会う。その軍艦が突如、攻撃を受け、ジントとラフィールは脱出するが、そこからかれらの冒険が始める。 ＷＯＷＯＷで放送されたアニメの原作だが、アニメ版では、内容がかなり削られていたので、読んでみても、損はない。
