リー,タニス
1947年、ロンドンの生まれ。事務員、図書館助手、店員、ウェイトレスといった職業を転々としたのち、1968年、短篇「ユーステス」で、プロ・デビュー。当初は、おもにジュブナイル・ファンタジイの分野で活躍し、人気を博す。また、大人向けに書かれた『平たい地球』シリーズの『死の王』では英国幻想文学大賞を受賞。ファンタジイにとどまらず、SF、ホラーのジャンルにまたがって、精力的に作品を発表し、現在長篇は70冊以上、短篇も250篇以上てがけている

15年以上も前に図書館で読んでから大大大ファンな作家さんの一番好きな作品です。
絶版で手に入らなかったんで原書を買って読み返しておりまして、先日本屋で再販されているのを発見して大興奮で即購入。小躍りするくらいすごい嬉しいです！
絵は幻想的なものから少し現代的なものに変わってしまったけど、翻訳は以前と同じ井辻さん（児童文学翻訳の大御所さまなのです）で物語を理解して翻訳されているので引き込まれます。翻訳小説が苦手な方も安心してぜひ。

信じられないくらいに切ないラブストーリーで何年経っても涙が止まりません。
とにかく切ない恋愛もの好きな方には騙されたと思って読んでください。
ラブストーリーですが少女の成長と自立の物語でもあります。
人によって感想や意見はさまざまだと思いますが、とにかく読んでつまらなかったという人はいないと思います（思いたい）。泣けます！（なんで泣けるのかわかりませんが）
もしかしたら最後で好悪が分かれてしまうかもしれませんが私は何年か経って納得できました。
とにかくこれ以上に切ないラブストーリーを知りません。この機会にぜひ！

作者の独特な書き方にひきこまれる。
美貌のロボットと少女のラブストーリー。凄く魅力的でセクシーな物語である。
もうすぐこの続きとなる「銀の愛ふたたび」というのが出るが、そちらも是非読んでみたいと思った。
ロボットに乙女の純潔を捧げ、その純愛を痛いほど語ってくれる物語であり、純粋なラブストーリであると同時に娘と母親という同じ性を持った人間同士の葛藤を見事に描いているものである。あまりに純粋で高潔で、本当に胸が痛い。ラブストーリーというのは本来、悲しいからこそ美しいのだと痛感させられた。泣きたい気分の人はど〜ぞ、読んでおくんなまし！萌えます！

学生時代、この本を読んで泣きました。
単なるラブストーリーにとどまらず、少女の成長物語としても共感できるものでした。
実のところ恋愛ものは苦手な私であるのに、この本だけは別でした。

それが再び新しい版になって発行されるというのは喜ばしいことですが、このような
安っぽいカバーになってしまい非常に残念です。いくら本は内容だといってもやはり
カバーイラストは本の顔です。近頃古典SFの名作が新版になるとマンガのような
ちゃちなカバーになっていることが多く、がっかりさせられます。
内容が少女向けだから少女マンガのような絵にすれば売れると思ったのでしょうか。

講談社のナツイチでも漫画家が純文学作品のカバー絵を描いたりして賛否両論あるよう
ですが、少なくとも絵がうまく個性的な漫画家を選んでいるのでこれより格段にましです。
本当は★一つをつけたいところですが、本編の素晴らしさに免じて二つとします。
