5.0 out of 5 stars 侵略物の古典的傑作, 2005/6/27
なぜこれが映画化されないのだろうと不思議でならない。古い作品だが、そのスピード感と上質のサスペンスはいささかも衰えを見せない。読むべし。似たような話をどこかですでに見聞きしたこともあるだろうが、やはり本家本元は違うのだ。

2.0 out of 5 stars いわゆる被侵略ものなんですが, 2001/9/13
地球が異星人に侵略を受けて立ち向かうというストーリーなんですが、本のタイトルにもなっている異星人の侵略スタイル（人間に接触して人格を乗っ取って操り、PuppetMaster=人形つかいになる）が少しばかり荒唐無稽のような気がしました。 自分的には、まだ「ペリーローダンシリーズ」に出てくるIVｓの侵略スタイル（精神寄生）のほうがありえそうな気がします。

こちらも、かなり荒唐無稽といえばそうですが、接触を以って精神を乗っ取るというのは苦しい気がします。

また、主人公が後半でいきなり冴えてきて、侵略者への対抗法を提案する所なんて、なんで急に冴えてそんなこと思いつくの？と思ってしまいました。

この本を含めて「銀河市民」とか、ハインラインは「自由への抑圧」に対してかなりの嫌悪感をもってるのが良く分かる気がします。 なお、ラストの主人公のせりふは少しかっこいいかな。

　時代設定がニ十世紀末になってしまっているけれど、これはご愛嬌。
　アメーバ状の生命体が侵略者として現れる。ひとつは事実上植民地、もうひとつは相手を操って行動範囲を広げる為。
　アメリカの諜報部員等が中心となって殲滅法を求めるが、予防策や特効薬と呼べるものがなく敵宇宙人の思うままに範囲は広まっていく。

　ようやく宿主は何とか生存するけれど、宇宙人は死亡する方法は見出したものの、まだこの戦いは始まったばかりだという終わり方となる。
　何故なら地球に来た侵略者を全滅させたという確証が得られず、彼等の本拠地へ向かうところで終わるのだから。

　とりあえず、食わず嫌いにならないで一読する事を勧める。

　何故か現在の世界情勢に似ている雰囲気がそこにはある。
