ＮＨＫ大河ドラマ「天地人」をいろいろな角度からの紹介・解説しています。

まず、登場人物の関係が図によりわかりやすく説明されています。
そして直江兼続役の妻夫木聡、上杉景勝役の北村一輝、お船役の常盤貴子等、主な俳優１５名
に 自分の演じる人物についての思いをインタビュ−しています。

また、原作者の火坂雅志の他、脚本、語り、音楽、題字（武田双雲）所作指導、殺陣武術指導
ＣＧ担当者にも各１〜４頁を当て、各人がドラマの見どころ等を語ってくれます。

最後に放送回ごとのあらすじがまとめられていますが、見逃した回があったら読みなおせば
とても便利です。(篤姫の時は結構お世話になりました）

俳優の魅力、時代の魅力を徹底的にビジュアル化。
ＮＨＫが総力をあげた作品であることが、ひしひしと伝わってきます。
「天地人」を１年間楽しみたいと思っている人にはまずこの本をお薦めします。

　中高年男性の歴史ファン層だけでなく，俳優の美麗な写真を惜しみなく使用しているため，美男子目当ての主婦層にも満足のガイドブック。今回の直江兼続といった良くも悪くも地味な武将が主人公の大河では，本書の冒頭折り込みにある「登場人物関係図」がスムーズな物語の理解にはかかせない。本編にある「配役紹介＋インタビュー」も勿論面白いが，取り扱いは小さいながらも俳優写真横にある「登場人物略歴」欄（＝例えば，直江兼続はこういう人物だったという解説のこと）が個人的には大好き。このシリーズは毎年そうだが，登場人物それぞれにドラマチックな文章で書かれてあり，ＴＶ視聴時の登場人物に対する感情移入に一役買っている。その他，視聴を忘れてしまった時に役立つ「あらすじ（前編）」や，旅行ガイドブックを彷彿とさせる「ゆかりの地めぐり」等の記事もあり，様々な方向からの興味を受け止めるだけの懐の大きさを持った，まさにＮＨＫ大河のお供に最適な良書である。

今回の大河は某会社の○○無双をかなり意識したキャラクター設定だと思います。特に石田三成はあえて判るように設定されてる感じがします。各武将の個性もはっきりしていて見ていて本当に面白いです。役者もみんなはまり役ですし…アニメチックな要素もありますが、あくまでも真面目なのでバランスがとれていてお軽い『新撰組!』みたいな事態にならず幅広いファンができそうです。話も教科書的ではなく良い意味でアニメチックで分かりやすく作ってあるので、○○無双が好きな人も大河や時代劇を見ない人にもオススメです。
