4.0 out of 5 stars 難しい講義の前にその「ココロ」を知ろう, 2006/8/30
算数の範疇に属する素朴なアイデアからはじまり、自然科学・社会科学の理論にいたる語り口は巧妙かつ爽快である。
扱っている内容もレベルを下げることなしに、しかし、平易な説明がなされており、数学科出身で、現在経済学研究者である著者の経歴が活かされた本である。
膨張する宇宙、市場均衡と市場の失敗、フラクタル、経済成長、協力ゲームのシャプレー値など、トピックスも満載。
経済学部生は、専門課程に上がる前に、本書を読むことで、学習効率が増すかもしれない。一読をおすすめする次第である。
また、同じ著者の「確率的発想法」も学生から社会人まで広くお薦めできる好著である。

算数のロジックが、大学で学ぶ経済学に生きているのだという話が具体
例を用いて展開されます。
ガウス算をつかって、エッジワースボックスを読み解くところ、ニュー
トン算からソローの経済成長モデルへの展開がみごと。ソローモデルに
よれば、人口の成長率が減少するほうが長期的には経済的に有利だ、と
いう著者の見解は刺激的である。
一番おもしろかったのは、メビウスの反転公式の著者の新しい解釈のと
ころだった。これは、協力ゲームに応用可能であり、シャブレー値がこ
こから、計算できるというところである。
刺激的な著作である。
学生諸君に読んでもらいたいです。
