2001年11月の初版発行なので紹介されている品種などは少し古くなってきました。最近人気で
桃の香りにピンク色の実がなる‘桃香’や赤花で大実の‘優香’、最近ケーキ屋でたまに見かける
白実の品種などは載ってませんし、2003年から流通した革命的な品種‘あまおう’も当然ながら
載ってません。果物市場では大人気の品種が園芸店やネット通販では苗を入手できないのがなぜなのか
といった理由も書かれていないのは今後改訂が必要でしょう。

栽培方法などは他の方も書かれているように基本的には十分なのですが、イチゴの
病気については、詳しい説明が事実上うどんこ病・灰色かび病・炭そ病のみ（写真では
うどんこ病と炭そ病のみ）しか載っていないのは残念です。近年問題になっている萎黄病や
疫病、葉枯病なども被害が大きいですし、害虫も載ってるのはアブラムシ・ハダニ・コガネムシ・ナメクジ
のみで、ヨトウムシやスリップス、イチゴハムシ、センチュウ類などは載っていませんから
必要に応じてインターネットや他の書籍で補うのがいいでしょう。

　イチゴ栽培の初心者にはお勧めです！
とても丁寧に1月〜12月までのイチゴの栽培の仕方が写真や絵付きで載っています。
栽培の仕方だけでは無くて、7〜8種類のイチゴの品種が約1行程度で紹介されていたり、5つほど簡単なイチゴのデザートの作り方が載っていました。とっても美味しそうでした★
本の大きさも文庫よりちょっと大きい位で読みやすいし、お値段が998円なのでお手ごろなんじゃないでしょうか？
私はこの本以外に「よくわかる栽培12か月」シリーズを2冊持っていますが、どの本もやっぱりわかりやすかったので、買って良かったと思っています。
ただ完璧主義な私としては、ほとんどのページがカラーでしたが、最後から約13ページの間にある写真（3枚）や絵（3つ）は白黒だったので、最後までカラーにして欲しかったです…

以前から、発売されていた、このシリーズ。
また、新しく、発行されています。
それぞれの植物についての栽培の1ヵ年の具体的作業、そしてその他のいろいろな情報を載せたコラム。
毎月、一冊刊行されています。
さすがに、版型などは同じですが、前回のシリーズとはもうン十年も経っていますから、現代の状況にあった内容に衣替えされています。

時代のブームに合わせて、この巻では、イチゴ。
意外と身近な植物なのに、お薦め栽培書が少なかったように思えます。
前回には、なかった巻です。こんなところに人気の植物の移り変わりが見て取れます。
この機会に、この巻や初巻のシンビジュームから集め初めては如何ですか？
