面白くて読みやすいほのぼのとしたエッセーです。
ケイトエルウッドさんが校正しているためか、内容のレベルが
ケイトエルウッドさんの本と近くて読みやすいです。

中学生程度の英語力があれば読めます。
しかも親切にも巻末に少しむずかしい単語の説明が付いているので、
辞書なくても大丈夫です。

交番、ソバ、梅雨、ラーメン、花見、おせち、猫よけのペットボトルなど
日本人にはおなじみのテーマもあってわかりやすいです。

私にとっては初めて読み終えることができた英語の本で、英語の本を読む楽しさを教えてくれた本です。
この本をきっかけにＮＨＫ出版のこのシリーズを読むようになりました。
