他の方も書かれているように、文章が（日本人にとって）読みやすい。
ケイ・ヘザリの「American Pie」などと比べても、
語彙レベルは同程度なのだが、こちらのほうがわかりやすいのだ。
大部分が教科書で習ったような表現・文体で書かれている。
ブライアン・ポール氏自身が多くの教科書を執筆しているので、
おそらく、教科書のレベル・表現がよくわかっているのだろう。

多読にふさわしいのは確かだが、読み飛ばすのはもったいない。
シリーズ全６冊すべてを、何度も味わいたいものだ。
個人的には「My Humorous World〈Part 3〉」が最も好きである。

もちろん、著者の平明な文体がこの本を読みやすくしているのです。
しかし、わかり易いのはただそれだけが理由ではありません。
描写されているのは日本の日常生活（外国人である著者の体験談）です。私たち日本人にとっては、既知のことがらです。アメリカやイギリスの日常生活は、そこに住んでみないとわからないでしょう。洋書の読みにくさの一因はここにあります。よく日本の英字新聞を読んでリーディング力をつけなさい。と言われますが。どうしても時事的な文章が多く、日常生活の描写はあまり出てきません。この本は、簡単な英語で、日常の生活をユーモラスにあらわした表現集として秀逸です。ＴＯＥＩＣ対策にも使えますよ。楽しみながら英語を学びたい人にお勧めの本です。

いや~ぁ文句なしで面白い本ですよ。英語で書かれているのですが、注もついているし、内容がユーモラスで読みやすく、高校生でも楽しんで読める英語の語句で書かれています。楽しんで英語を勉強でき、異文化として日本の日常生活を見直すことができ、日々の生活を新たな目で見直すことができます。英書という事ですが、面白い本ということで推薦できます。一度英書を読んで見たい人は「ダレンシャンシリーズ」と共にこの著者のシリーズをお勧めします。（ハリーポッターを英語で読もうとしてめげた人はダレンシャンシリーズとＭＹ Humorous シリーズに一度tryして下
さい。読みやすいですよ）
