一見、よく目にする物件ものの本かと思ったが
ひらいてびっくり、中古物件をどんどん自分でリメイクしていってしまう。
もくじからもわかるがその範囲の広いこと。フローリング・皿の金継ぎ・植物カーテン・段ボール家具等々。
HOWTOもかなり　丁寧に書かれていて　これならちょっとやってみようかな、とやる気が起きるのは　著者の失敗談もあるからだろう。

古い家に手間暇愛情をかけ　出来上がった家が息苦しいほどの新品ではなくて
どこか懐かしくあたたかな感じのする家づくり。

目から鱗の素敵な本でした。

話題の本なので読んでみました 家づくりに不満が残るのはお金がないからと誤解していた という著者の告白 とても説得力があります 幸せになる家は自分で作れるんですね 一円の家のとほほなリフォーム工事の体験談も いらないものを大切な宝物にリメイクするていねいでエコなDIYハウツーもためになります 不況なんて吹き飛ばす新しい住まい方に憧れました ぜひ!

私も、中古住宅を好きなようにリフォームして暮らしたいなあ
できればDIYで、と思っていたクチなので
とても興味を持って読ませていただきました。
結局それは状況が許さずに成立しなかったのですが
もし、そうしていたら著者とまったく同じ苦労をしていたであろうと思うと
手に汗握る展開でとても他人事とは思えませんでした。
他にもフローリング張りや漆喰塗りなど本格的DIYから
ガラス瓶で作るランプ、自作ミミズコンポスト、段ボール家具、
薪ストーブとペーパーログの使い心地など盛りだくさんで
DIY好きやセルフメイド好きにはぜひ一読をすすめます。
ただ、私は著者の今までの著作（ダンボール家具や園芸関係、
イギリス在住時のエッセイなど）から、著者のセンスをとても
信頼申しあげているので、可能な限りビジュアルを、
それもカラーで見たかった、それがちょっと残念でした。
