5.0 out of 5 stars 京極夏彦氏の仕掛けにやられてしまいました。, 2004/4/15
巷説百物語も面白かったが、この続編もすばらしい出来だと思う。１つ１つの話は独立しているが、それぞれの中に伏線が織り込まれていて、「七人みさき」を読み進めるうちにその伏線に気づくのだ。きっと「船幽霊」からはなだれ込むように最後まで読破してしまう人も多いのではないだろうか？

　おススメの読み方としては、一度通して読んでみてから、もう一度読み直してみること。思いもかけないところに伏線が隠されているのが分かるはず。分厚いから根気がいるかも知れないが、京極氏の狙いを推測しながら読むのも面白い読み方かも。
　
　それにしても、又市ご一行様の仕掛けぶりは、ますます冴えてる！

京極堂シリーズとはまた違う世界が楽しめるはず。

「巷説百物語」は様々な視点から書かれておりそこが魅力でもあったのですが、
今回の「続~」は百介からの視点に統一されており個人的にはこの方が読み易いな~と感じました。

さて、内容ですが・・・
相変わらず魅せてくれます又市一行！！
読み進むにつれて仕掛けの規模も徐々に大きくなっていきます。
そして集大成ともいうべき「七人みさき」。

詳らかになる登場人物の過去（主におぎんさんかな？）も含め、これを読まない手はないでしょう。

そしてそして百介と又市一行が互いの立場にどういう決着をつけたのか。
最後まで見届けてください。

◆「野鉄砲」

　百介は、実兄である八王子同心・山岡軍八郎から、額に
　石つぶてがめり込んで死んだ同僚の事件について、相談を受ける。

　百介は、又市の知恵を借りようとするのだが…。


　又市一味の、ある人物の過去が明らかに。
　
　堅物ではあるものの、実直で情け深い軍八郎の人柄が、
　又市一味と好対照をなし、忘れ難い印象を残します。



◆「狐者異」

　大悪党・稲荷坂の祗右衛門が晒し首になった。

　彼は過去にも二度、斬首されたが、
　その度に生き返る不死身の男であるらしい。

　生首見物に来ていた百介は、そこでおぎんと会う。
　
　彼女は生首を見て呟く
　「まだ生きるつもりかえ」―と。



　不死身の妖怪「狐者異（こわい）」の
　正体とは、いったい何なのか？

　生首という、いかにもミステリらしい道具立てにより、
　戦慄すべき「仕掛け」が浮かび上がってきます。

　そして今回、おぎんの出生の秘密も明らかに。
