「明野照葉」を知らずしてミステリーを語るな，と帯にあったが，全く気にすることはない。
途中から話の展開がある程度読めてしまうし，暗いだけの話。
ひまつぶし程度にはいいかもしれないけど，ミステリーを楽しみたいと思うなら，他の本を読んだ方がいいかも。

展開は読めるし、無駄な表現も多く緊張感を持続して読める本では無い。
が都会に生きる女性の哀れさを表裏一体で表現しているのは見事で、怖い。

いささか、ご都合主義な点は、陶子が久恵に嵌められていた時に出てきた携帯電話。
付き合いが長いのなら、久恵が気が付いても良いのではと感じる。
また、パソコンが壊された久恵が絶句するが、ハードディスクが無事なら復旧も可能では無いのか?
女性なので、メカ物には弱いとは思うが大事な点で「なんだかなぁ」と思わせるのは
とても残念である。

若くして美貌の女社長の"イケてる女"陶子と見かけも性格も"イケていない女"久恵が、主客を転倒しながら、ドロドロした怨念の闘争を繰り広げる、と評判の作品。だが、一読してサッパリ面白くなかった。

陶子と久恵の性格設定や境遇にこれと言った工夫がなく、物語はむしろ淡々と進む。読んでいて、どのような工夫が考えられるか悩む程。久恵の姉の旦那が、陶子の前に"白馬の騎士"として現われるとか、何らかの意外性を盛り込むべきだったろう。物語では、単に愚かな二人の女性が延々と復讐劇を繰り広げると言うだけで、何のアイデアもない。結末も余りにも中途半端。

その他、気になったのは、作者がしきりに「時代」を強調する点。「こんな「時代」だから、こうした生き方をしても仕方がない」との登場人物を弁護するセリフは余計だろう。自作の拙さも「時代」のせいにするつもりだろうか ?
