　何の変哲もない少女ヒロミが、アラビアンナイト世界の魔神ジンになって活躍する冒険物語！ジンになったばかりのヒロミの悪戦苦闘ぶりが、まずコミカルで笑えました。だって、まっすぐ飛ぶことすらできない魔神なんて！でも少しずつ飛ぶことを覚え、物を出すことを覚え、自身を透明にすることを覚え……。物語全編がヒロミの一人称で綴られているため、元の世界とのつながりは絶たれていても、元の世界が全くその姿を隠したりはしないのですよ。
　それが不思議でしたね。わくわくする冒険や、恐ろしい王宮の陰謀の中を必死に行動しながら、ジン・ヒロミは少女・ヒロミのままなのですから。いえ、少しずつ成長はしています。徐々に変わってはいます。それでも少女ヒロミのままなのです。
　一気に読めました。かなりおもしろかったです。

荻原規子さんの小説は初めて読んだのですが、とても面白かったです！
主人公の上田ひろみの一人称で語られる、アラビアンナイトの様な世界。
ひろみは失恋の痛手から『上田ひろみ』である自分にうんざりしていた。
この世界では彼女は上田ひろみである以前に、ジン（魔神）だった。
ジンとして何も知らない彼女は、周囲の人に同調しやすく、万能の様で決して万能ではない新米のジン。弱点もある。
人ならず力を手にした彼女だが、ふわふわとどこか頼りなかったりもする。
突如訪れた異世界で、ひろみはジンとなり新しい名前を得て、人だった頃とは違う物の見方で物語に参加していくのだ。

佐竹美保さんによる表紙の絵も、巻頭に途切れていない一枚絵として付属してあり、とても素敵☆
結構しっかり作られた、良質なファンタジーでした。
是非とも続編の『樹上のゆりかご』も、同じ文庫で出して欲しいです。

始めは児童書で発売されて、ノベルス、そして文庫と、
大人に近いところにやってきた本です。
書いてるのは、空色勾玉で有名な荻原規子さん。

失恋をきっかけに自分がいやになって
不思議なアラビアンナイトの世界にきてしまう主人公。
人間ならぬ魔人族（ジン）として生きることを選んで
砂漠や海や王宮を舞台にした大冒険が始まります。
１５歳の女の子の成長物語らしく、
自己嫌悪だったり現実逃避だったり、淡い恋があったり…。


「あたし」の一人称で語られる話し言葉の文章は
慣れないとむしろ読みにくく感じるひともいるかも。
でもけっして内容が薄いわけではないのです。
児童書で良く感じられることだけれど
難しい言葉で一生懸命説明されてもうまく伝わらないことを
ぽんっと易しい言葉で届けてしまう。
理屈をこえた真理のようなものを、すとんと納得させられてしまう。
そんな力があるのです。


理屈が大好きな大人こそ
たまにはこんな物語を読まないと・・・。
