クルマが題材にした読み物としては、女性の視点からというだけでまずは画期的。

でも、女の人から見たらクルマって結局オトコの経済力の象徴なんだと思い知らされる場面が多々あってめげます。
だって、結局「モテ度」80点以上のクルマって、ポルシェ、ＢＭ、アウディ、ジャガー、マセラッティ、アルファなど高級輸入車がずらりと並んでるし。
安くてモテるクルマはないのかねえ。

個人的には、プジョー106S16やコペン、RAV4、ティアナなんかも取り上げて欲しかった。

クルマごとのショートストーリは、男女に限らず家族や会社まで射程が及び、それぞれ機知に富んでいて、舌を巻かざらるをえません。
相当な耳年増か妄想の暴走がとまらない系なのか。
その中でも、佐藤君の赤いファミリアなんかはよかった！
オザケンの歌にもあった、カローラIIなんか今のると洒落てるかもねえ。
けれど、やはり、ストーリー全般的にどこか陳腐な気がするのは気のせい？

まあ、「ＧＴロマン」や「湾岸ＭＩＤＮＩＧＨＴ」「雨の日にはクルマを磨いて」のような詩情すら漂う過剰なロマンを求めるのは、見当違いには違いないのだろうけれど。

それと、タイトルにあるアンケートにはグサリときます。

男友達に「面白いよ」と進められて読みました。

日本人て、乗っている車でその人の人格まで見る傾向ってありますよね。そんな視点から書かれた本としては面白いと思います。でも、車種からして「それってどんな車？」って言っている私のような人間にはわかりづらかったかな。むしろ、後半の車にまつわるこだわりから、性格をはかるくだりのほうが、楽しく読めました。

車大好きな、若い女の子で、本好きの人（あまりいそうにないなぁ）には大いなる共感を持って読める一冊だと思います。

さすが、男性遍歴華やかな室井氏。さぞかしたくさんの男性の車に乗ってきたんだろうなあと思わせる観察ぶりである。
確かに、男性は選ぶ車によって性格がわかってしまったりする部分があるかもしれない。「乗ってる車なんて全然気にしないわ」なんて言う女性には、私も実際お目にかかったことはないし（笑）。すなわち女性は、相手を彩る“モノ”でその人を計っちゃったりしていることは事実なのだ！
数多ある車種から、その車に合った男性像をよく言い当てている。特に外車の類では「あー、その通りだ」なんてやたら頷けるほど顕著。横目で見ている子供や女の視線を気にすることなくご満悦の表情で運転している男の姿が目に浮かんで、笑ってしまうかも…。
