著者の作品が好きだったのですが、ノベルズ版のイラストを見て、すっかり引いてしまってたのです。
が、このたびハードカバー（高くて手が出ず）→文庫（ようやく！）で購入しました。始めは世界に入っていくのにしんどかったのですが、読み始めるとテンポ良くきっちりとした世界観で、さすがだと感心しました。続きがどうなるのか、楽しみです。
文庫は何ヶ月置きくらいに出るのでしょうね･･･。あまり期間が空くと、困ったものですが。

　情景が頭の中にすぅっと入ってくる。色彩豊かな文章表現と圧倒的な世界観が魅力。恋愛あり、戦いあり、学園生活あり、etc・・・欲しい要素は全部とりこんだ！（多少欲張ってしまった・・）そんな感じの物語。
　それでも物語は主人公の少女フィリエルを中心に展開していく。もし小さい頃に読んでいたなら、（そして私が女の子であったなら）きっとフィリエルに憧れ、セラフィールドを夢見るだろう。
　舞台はどんどん変わっていく。展開も多彩である。物語のベクトルがあらゆる方向へ向いてゆくため多少読者を困惑させるが、それを補って余りある・・・と言っていいほどの作者の文章力がその場その場を確実に盛り上げいく。
　児童文学作家を志す者ならば、荻原規子の「西の善き魔女」は一つの指標にするべきだ。

おもしろいとは聞いていましたが、荻原氏の作品を読むのは今回は初めてです。
当初は暇つぶしに買ったのですが、いつしか最優先で読んでいました。
おもしろかったー！って、声を大に言いたい気分でした。
こんなおもしろい本（私好みの本）をこれまでに読まないでいたなんて、
なんて勿体無いことしたんだろう~と悔やんだくらいです。
ファンタジー好きで、ボーイミーツガール的なお話が好きな方は
はまると思います。
続きが楽しみです。
