鎌倉時代の創世記を紐解く基本資料。
今まで手を出さなかったのは、原文を読みこなす
自信がなかったからである。今、こういう時代で、
児童向けとはいえ、こういう書籍があるのは非常
に助かります。

鎌倉幕府草創の時期を生々しく描写した”公式記録”吾妻鏡。

その吾妻鏡の何世紀にもわたる律令＝公地公民制の崩壊を決定づけた武家による政権の確立とその安定までの血なまぐさい争いの軌跡を我々はマンガを通して学ぶことのできる幸せな時代に生きている。もちろん古典を理解するに当たっては原典を紐解くのが一番の方法であろうが忙しい日常生活の中ではそれもかなわず、あるいは言葉の壁などの為まるで腫れ物を避ける様に古典を遠ざけている人にはなんといってもマンガは手っ取り早い入門書である。日本の国のかちちを変えた頼朝の苦悩と偉業に思いを馳せるのも一興である。一読をお薦めする。
