こういう漫画は「漫画」としてはあまり注目されない。漫画としては手抜きだと思われがちだったりする。しかし竹宮さん、全く手抜きなしです。立派な仕事をなさっています。画面を見ればいかにきちんと描かれた作品か分かります。加えて、史料、史実をよくこれだけきちんとまとめたのものだ、と脱帽。頭の良い方です。
彼女の過去の作品を知る人の中には「竹宮惠子が『吾妻鏡』？？」と驚かれる向きもあるかもしれませんが、竹宮さんは以前から結構「歴史」や「時代劇」が似合う作家さんではあったんですね。初期の代表作に『ファラオの墓』というエジプトを舞台にした架空の戦記漫画があるのですが（ちなみに傑作）、これなどはハッキリ「平家物語」の世界でした。ヒーローは源義経タイプの少年で、彼を護衛する大男が「弁慶の立ち往生」の末に果てる場面を今でも鮮明に覚えています。
個人的には「竹宮惠子が『吾妻鏡』」の必然性が感慨深い限りですが、この時代に興味のある方ならどなたでも楽しんで読める作品になってます。一流のプロの仕事ですね。素晴らしい。

上巻について・・というより吾妻鏡についてですが、鎌倉時代についてよく知りたい！という方には最適です。
文字だけの原本も面白いですが、この漫画は竹宮恵子先生の絵が綺麗で美しいので、文字が苦手な方でも読みやすいと思います。

個人的に義経と竹宮先生が好きなので、原本を読んだ事があるにもかかわらずこの漫画を読んだのですが、とても忠実で良い本です。
来年の大河ドラマ「義経」を控えての予習にもよいのでは・・。
ぜひ読んでみてください（^^）

来年のＮＨＫ大河はタッキー義経。
非常にドラマチックな時代で、武士らしいやり取りや劇的な合戦逸話は
勿論、男性的には、「親子に分かれての戦い」「讒言」「謀略」「暗殺」
女性的には「白拍子出身の夫を思う妻（静）」「男勝りの女将（巴）」
「肝の据わったあねご（政子）」「儚い恋（大姫と義高、椿山伝説）」

等々、ドラマを構成する要素には事欠かない。
舞台も鎌倉、関東は勿論、福岡、四国、京都、奈良、神戸、石川、奥州、
（樺太、モンゴルもか！？）・・・日本全国に渡るため、各地で義経
イベントが催されるはず。
「吾妻鏡」は北条氏が編纂した鎌倉幕府の正史で、上記のような逸話が
満載で非常に面白い。竹宮氏の手になるこの漫画は、史料に非常に

則って描かれおり万人に向けての格好の鎌倉入門となっている。
中井喜一の頼朝、中尾彬の梶原景時等、この漫画を読めばまさにこれ以外
ありえないだろうという位、はまり役なのがわかる（笑）
来年は売り切れ必至かも。
