　推理小説のと言うのは不思議なモノで、探偵がというものが暗黙の了解の上でなりたってしまいます。事件が起こり、そこに居合わせた（または、依頼を受けた）探偵が調査をして、推理して、事件の謎を解き明かす。それは、ひとつの当たり前の流れであり、おもしろさでもあるわけですが、果たしてこの日常生活で起こる事件に実際に「探偵」という人が現れたなら、何も違和感を感じずに受け入れることができるでしょうか。 「どんな事件もあっと言う間に解決してしまう。」なんて都合のいいことはありえません。小説の中の探偵は実際にありえそうなことであって、実は非現実的なのです。 　しかし、著者はこの小説の中で見事に日常の中に「探偵」を表現しました。それも、とびきり腕のいい。

　ぜひ、一度身近に「探偵」を感じてみて下さい。

何度も読み返している作家のひとりです。
胸にズキリとくる探偵巫弓彦の方が好み。
こちらがシリーズ化されなかったのが残念でなりません。
短編三作品が収録されていますが、タイトルにもなっている『冬のオペラ』が一番素敵です。
殺人事件であるのに殺伐としていなく、優しくそして泣けてくるような話の運びは、さすが北村薫という感じです。

ミステリという分野に足を踏み入れていない方は北村薫から入るのがベストでしょう。

巫弓彦シリーズがこの一冊で（今のところ）終わっていることが、最後まで読んでなんとなく分かった気がした。最初の一編二編は最後の中編「冬のオペラ」の伏線-といって悪ければ序章なのである。この「冬のオペラ」は謎解きもなかなか本格的なのだが、著者の人を見る目がやさしいのだ。だからこそ、内容自体はこんなにも残酷である。

しかし北村薫はホントに若い女性の「つぶやき」を書くのが上手い。職人芸ですね。
